Virtual laptop is a program designed for students or even technicians to learn more about the components that can be found inside of the laptop. In this program, we can explore further about computer components and gain more information about them. Besides, we can also learn how to install or place hardware or components, the right way and the right place to install the components, and enrich our knowledge about every component more specifically.

This program is found to provide some advantages. First, this virtual laptop can provide a scene inside our mind about what are the components found inside of a computer or a laptop. Then, students, especially beginners, can contact directly with the laptop although it is only a ‘virtual’ laptop, since beginners may make mistakes or damage the components inside of the ‘real’ laptop due to their inexperience. Next, practicing with virtual laptop will not cost much money, since we do not buy the real computers and what we need is only the Internet. After that, by practicing first with the virtual laptop, we can gain knowledge about the components and this can be the base for us to work further with real computers in the future.

On a contrary, this program also contained several disadvantages. One of those disadvantages is that we will not know or feel the exact condition of the way of assembling a computer since we only practice it virtually. Therefore, it will be found to be difficult for us when we are working in the real condition. Besides, by learning to assembly a computer from this program only by clicking on specific regions does not help much in understanding the method of assembling a computer. Furthermore, accessing this program is also found to be difficult if someone does not have any Internet connection.

In a nutshell, this program provides many beneficial aspects. The most important thing is we should not depend too much in practicing with virtual laptop; instead, we should try to work with real computers so that we can feel the ‘passion’ of assembling ‘concrete’ computers rather than ‘abstract’ computers.

pada hari kamis, tanggal 1 oktober , jam 13.00 kami sedang ada kelas basic computer, tapi ternyata setelah kami menunggu kurang lebih setengah jam lalu ada asdos yang datang yang memberitahukan kalau pak salman, dosen kami sedang berada di luar kota, jadi asdos kami meminta kami untuk membuka situs can.ee.ui.ac.id untuk memnbuka materi tentang hardware dan software, dan kami diberi waktu smp jam 14.00 untuk membaca, apa yang kubaca masih sebatas dasar saja sperti bagian-bagian dalam komputer seperti hardisk yang fungsinya untuk menyimpan data dalam komputer, VGA untuk membuat grafik komputer lebih bagus, soundcard untuk meningkatkan kualitas suara, port usb sebagai menghubungkan usb dengan komputer, lata dan sata cable, dll. Setelah itu kakak asdos meminta dari kami seseorang untuk menjelaskan lebih lanjut tentang materi yang sudah kita baca, mungkin karena banyak dari kita yang malu termasuk saya jadi perlu waktu yang agak lama untuk salah satu darri kita untuk maju, dan kita harus pakai bahasa inggris karena nafeezh(orang asli pakistan) belum bisa lancar bahasa indonesia, setelah panjang lebar teman kami menjelaskan, kakak asdos meminta kami untuk maju dan melihat bagian-bagian dari komputer dan kakak asdos memberi tantangan pada kami untuk bisa membongkar dan kemudian dipasangkan lagi dalam waktu tertentu, tapi entah kenapa itu tidak jadi, beberapa dari kami sibuk bongkar-pasang bagian komputer dan sebagian yang lain ada yang ngobrol, diskusi sama kakak asdos, dan sampai jam 15.00 kami berada di labkom, lalu kami diberi tugas untuk membuat review hari ini dan review tentang laptop.
